Summer Learning for Oakland Christian Students
At Oakland Christian, we want students to enjoy a refreshing summer while also staying engaged and prepared for the year ahead. Research shows that students can lose ground over long breaks, especially in reading and math. A little consistent practice over the summer helps students retain what they've learned and start the new school year with confidence.
Elementary Students (Entering JK–5th Grade)
Summer learning for Elementary students is recommended, not required. We’ve provided optional reading and math activities designed to be simple, engaging, and helpful for keeping skills sharp. These are a great way to support a smooth transition into the next grade level.
Secondary Students (Entering 6th–12th Grade)
Summer learning for 6th–12th grade students is required and will count toward students’ first-quarter grades. Assignments are designed to reinforce key skills and set students up for success in the fall.
