OCS partners with Power Company Kids Club for Operation T.U.R.K.E.Y.

Meet Makenzie and Makayla.  These two young ladies began attending The Power Company Kids Club (PCKC) in 3rd and 4th grade respectively. Through their experience at PCKC, both have come to know Christ as Savior, and now, in 8th and 9th grade, they are being mentored as team assistants and are involved in the Leadership Development Program.

Makenzie and Makayla have also been recipients of an Operation TURKEY Thanksgiving box for the past 5 years. They come from a single parent home in one of the roughest areas in Pontiac, and they are grateful for the annual help they receive during the holiday season.

OCS is proud to once again partner with Power Company Kids Club to support this family and others in similar situations.   The Power Company Kids Club reaches at risk children and adolescents and is committed to Empowering Children and Building Champions in Detroit and Pontiac.  You can learn more about their ministry at www.powercompanykidsclub.org.

This year, OCS would like to provide 100 Thanksgiving food boxes to Pontiac families in need. Here are the ways you can help:

1.  Middle/High School donation day is Friday, October 28th!  We are asking that each student bring in 3 items from the list below or $3.  (This food or monetary donation allows them to wear jeans and their Michigan/Michigan State gear!)

2.  Donate $20 or more toward the purchase of a turkey or ham for the Thanksgiving food boxes. Donations can be given to Heidi Barba at the lobby kiosk.

3.  Participate in elementary jeans day.  With a donation of $1 or more, elementary students may wear jeans and their Michigan/Michigan State gear tomorrow, October 28th.  All money will be given to support the Operation TURKEY food drive.

4.  Elementary food donations begin Monday, October 31st - Wednesday, November 9th.  We are asking that each class bring in specific items needed for the Thanksgiving food boxes.  A list of items by class is listed below.  (Please note - we would like to collect 100 of each item, so if you are able to donate more than one item, we greatly appreciate it!)

5.  Join us for Family Mission Night on Saturday, November 12 at 6:00 p.m. in the main gym as we pack the Thanksgiving food boxes and tie blankets for these families.

Thank you for your support as we serve our community!

We have developed relationships with other parents as well as the administration and staff, and we see Oakland Christian School as a community that lives open-handedly and truly locks arms with one another to serve inside and outside of school.
