New Robotics Program Wins First Place!

This fall, Oakland Christian School introduced our first after school robotics program, led by our Secondary STEM teacher, Mr. Greg Favaro. With over 20 students in grades 7-12 involved in this program, OCS now has five robotics teams. As a compliment to the VEX EDR curriculum taught in the STEM classes, this after school robotics program allows students to design, program and build robots to use in competition.

On December 2, our OCS Robotics teams competed in their first competition, and two teams brought home an award! Team AMEME - Avery Almy, Marlena Munch, Evan Algate, Matthew Magro and Emma Kate Zanoli - received the Judges Award for Outstanding Team. Team Knight - Noah Pontzer, Justin Xie, Richy Chen and Young Li- won First Place at the tournament! Congratulations on an outstanding first competition!

The teams are making plans to  attend another competition in Toledo on December 16. As our program grows, Favaro hopes to continue adding more teams and sponsors and eventually host a competition here at OCS.

Thank you to all of our volunteers, donors, and parents who have supported this program and help launch it with such a successful start!

Hear From Our Parents, Teachers, and Alumni

We've been at OCS for nearly a decade. The school has an outstanding staff and passion for education and the gospel. My girls are receiving an outstanding education.  I'd highly recommend OCS!

We have developed relationships with other parents as well as the administration and staff, and we see Oakland Christian School as a community that lives open-handedly and truly locks arms with one another to serve inside and outside of school.
