Family Service Hours

All family service hours for the 16/17 school year are due April 30th. Please turn in all forms by Monday, May 1.  As a reminder, families in K-12 must complete 20 family service hours per school year and families in the Early Education Center must complete 10 family service hours per school year. A $20 fee will be charged for all uncompleted hours.  Thank you for your contribution to OCS - your service is greatly appreciated!

 FAMILY SERVICE HOUR PROGRAM

Still in need of family service hours?

If so, we have a great opportunity for you!  Our LifeBuilders Celebration is in need of items for our auction baskets.  For every $20 you spend, you will receive one service hour.  All items needed are hanging on tags in the elementary lobby.  Grab a tag and bring back the item(s) by April 24th. This is a great way to support our LifeBuilders event and get your service hours done.  If you have already completed your hours for this year, you can count these donations towards next year - thank you for supporting OCS!

Seussical the Musical!

Tickets go on sale April 3rd for our upcoming High School Drama Production, Seussical, The Musical! Nine of Dr. Seuss' fun and humorous stories are woven together in a tale that follows the story of Horton, The WHOs, the animals in the Jungle of Nool and an imaginative THINKER named Jojo. Do you eat your bread butter side up or better side down? Come see who wins the battle for butter amidst valuable lessons like appreciating the differences among us, celebrating the value in each individual, and taking time to notice what's all around us.

Performances are May 12, 13, 18-20. You can click to download the Order Form and our Promo Poster. Seating is reserved, so get your tickets early, and be sure to invite a friend!

Don't miss out and feel like a bum - Get your tickets and join the fun!

Donate Your Used Instruments

The music department is in the process of updating and increasing the inventory of playable instruments for our musicians. As part of this process, we are requesting donations of any instrument(s) you may have stashed away and that are no longer in use. We will offer you a tax receipt for any donation.

We will evaluate all donated instruments for potential use to our program. We expect we can repair and use some of them, and others may be traded in for credit toward the purchase of either new or good used instruments.

Please bring any instrument donations to the music department.  Please include with the instrument your name, address and phone number so we can properly credit you for your contribution.

Thank you for your support of the OCS music programs!

Host Family Opportunities

Hosting an international student is a positive, life-changing experience. You will learn about another culture as well as your own, through the eyes of a teenager from another country. The relationship you form with your student will create a life-long friendship and bridge different nations, while giving you the opportunity to invest in and possibly change a student's life. Your life will be impacted and changed in the process!

Families provide housing, meals, and transportation.  A stipend to the host family is provided to take care of these expenses.  You can visit www.oaklandchristian.com/international to learn more. Please contact Kelly Wood at kwood@oaklandchristian.com or 248.373.2700, ext. 215 to express your interest.

Donation Opportunity

Because of our partnership with Charity Motors, your unused vehicle can help Oakland Christian School.

As audited by Plante & Moran, in it's last 20 years, Charity Motors has already given away more than $100 million in charitable gifts and car subsidies to the needy. Charity Motors is the ONLY car donation program that:

  • Lets you donate the proceeds from the sale of your car to Oakland Christian School.
  • Donates up to a 50% car subsidy to low income car buyers; and
  • Provides the donor with a fair full market value tax deduction for the donation of their car.

Hear From Our Parents, Teachers, and Alumni

This is my 13th year at OCS, and I believe we have the BEST parent and administration support of any school in Michigan.  You just can feel the love here, and I love teaching at OCS!
- Mr. Kreger, MS History Teacher
The teachers truly love and care for each individual student.  They long for them to succeed in life – fully rooted in their faith, walking in freedom and the Lord’s calling.  The teachers are servants with their eyes fixed on Jesus, and an amazing gift of teaching
- The Erickson Family
From the day we toured OCS, my husband and I have felt this is the place for our children.  Every year, God has provided for us to continue to send our children here.  I am so thankful He has allowed us to have our children in a place that not only puts education on such a high level, but incorporates God, His work and His love, into every aspect of that education!  What a blessing OCS is, and will continue to be, for our family!
- The Johnson Family
Our first impression of Oakland Christian School was the family environment.  We are truly blessed with an environment where everyone, including faculty, staff, and fellow students are concerned for each other. It is this caring environment and the ability to freely and compassionately communicate with teachers and staff that has made Oakland Christian the right school for our family.
