Ways to Support OCS
From memorial gifts to volunteering, there are numerous opportunities to support the Oakland Christian Mission.
The convenience and speed of making an automatic monthly gift is becoming increasingly popular. You may safely and securely make monthly gifts to Oakland Christian using a credit card or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) from your primary checking or savings account. To begin a monthly giving plan, please sign up online or download and complete the Monthly Giving Form.
Oakland Christian School accepts gifts of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, investments, and real estate. Gifts may be designated to fund a specific initiative or be added to the school’s general fund.
A memorial gift is a special and unique way to honor the life of a family member or friend, while also supporting Oakland Christian School. Memorial gifts can be designated to fund a specific initiative or be added to the school’s general fund. Families may also choose to establish a scholarship fund or endowment in the name of the individual being honored.
A gift-in-kind is a non-cash contribution that adds value to the Oakland Christian educational experience or may be sold for profit. When received, any gift-in-kind becomes the property of Oakland Christian School. In-Kind gifts can be designated to fund a specific initiative or be added to the school’s general fund. Examples of recent gifts-in-kind include book collections, medical equipment, historical items, general equipment, and artwork.
Oakland Christian School offers a variety of special events throughout the year for students, alumni, and donors. These include art exhibits, concerts, lectures, community gatherings, Homecoming, alumni dinners, trips, board meetings, research panels, and other activities. There are many opportunities for you to utilize your talents and help OCS at the same time. If you are interested in volunteering, please email email@example.com or call 248-373-2700.
The Prayer Corner:
The Prayer Corner is a prayer network specifically focusing on the numerous school ministries and individuals associated with Oakland Christian School. Many positive initiatives have been launched recently at OCS, and we believe prayer support has been a major factor in the growth and development of the institution. A group of OCS parents committed to faithful and consistent prayer meets each Friday of the school at 8:00 am. If you would like to join this group, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and express your interest.
A Commitment to Christian Education for Student Success
Our mission is to provide our students with a rigorous and relevant education in an environment where they develop Christ-centered relationships. It is our desire to provide this quality education to students who meet the admissions standards of Oakland Christian School.
Through the ACCESS fund, it is our goal to provide grants to families who desire a Christian education but are unable to pay the full cost of attendance. Each year new families are able to attend and current families who have temporary financial difficulty are able to stay because of the generous donors who make it possible.
Your contribution makes a difference!
Nearly 50% of secondary students participate in athletics at OCS. While the basic resources to support athletics are provided by the school budget, funding from the Athletic Boosters is used to improve the athletic infrastructure and support Lancer Athletics.
Over 50% of our secondary students are involved in Visual and Performing Arts extra-curricular programs. The Arts Patrons Organization supports these programs by providing the resources necessary to produce outstanding performances and opportunities for our students.
