Our Commitment to Families
Oakland Christian School is a private Christian school serving students in Junior Kindergarten through grade 12 whose mission is to equip students to pursue their unique, God-given purpose.
By the time your child has graduated from OCS, they will:
- Lead with integrity as an engaged citizen of our community
- Communicate with confidence and compassion
- Enter the college or career of their choice with the knowledge, skills, and maturity for success
- Impact a changing world by choosing to live fully for God
Teaching for Transformation
Every OCS student and teacher engages with the Teaching for Transformation model, which provides a framework for the development of authentic and integral Christian learning experiences. In short, we apply what we learn to real-life experiences that ensure teachers and students continuously grow as lifelong learners. Mentorship, service projects, and our weekly chapels play significant roles in promoting others above self. Through these experiences, students deepen their faith, develop a heart for serving others, and cultivate the skills needed to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.
Safe & Secure Environment
With our family-like environment and small class sizes, OCS students are known, loved, and valued. We support our campus community with the help of our licensed professional counselor and our full-time school nurse. All OCS staff are trained in crisis management, and our Safety Leadership Team assesses and implements safety standards including keeping a secure building during school hours, use of security cameras, Live Scan fingerprinting background checks for all employees, and screening all volunteers. In addition, we have a security officer on campus every day during school hours.
Parent Involvement
At Oakland Christian School, we believe a strong home-school partnership is essential for a child’s growth. We value parent involvement and encourage families to take an active role in our community. OCS parents are welcome to attend chapel, engage in special events, and volunteer through our Parent Volunteer Network, which provides opportunities to serve, connect, and support students and staff. Whether assisting with school events, volunteering at lunch, recess, or classroom activities, our parents play a vital role in shaping the Christ-centered environment at OCS.
