• Dutton Farm Basketball Game
  

  On Saturday, January 25, at noon in the Main Gym, we will be hosting our Annual Dutton Farm Basketball Game. Our students will be playing the residents of Dutton Farm in this fundraiser event to support all that Dutton Farm does for its residents and the community. All proceeds from tickets (donation), the 50/50 raffle, and concessions will be donated to Dutton Farm.

• Apologetics Nights
  

  We are excited to announce that Oakland Christian School is offering a series of evening classes on the fascinating and essential topic of apologetics! Apologetics is the discipline of defending the Christian faith through reasoned arguments and evidence, empowering believers to confidently explain and uphold their beliefs. These classes will not only count as service hours for those who attend but will also provide a unique opportunity to dive deep into relevant and pressing issues facing Christians today. Whether you’re a parent or a student, these sessions will equip you with the tools needed to live out your faith with confidence and discernment, sparking great conversations and pointing you to valuable resources. In a world that often challenges our beliefs, these classes aim to make everyone in our school community more effective and comfortable in defending the truth of the gospel. We strongly encourage you to join us if you can fit it into your schedule—these evenings will be both relaxed in feel and empowering for the mind!

• Save the Date - Lancers LifeBuilders
  

  Our annual Lifebuilders event is Saturday, April 26th. Please save the date and plan to join us for an evening of community as we celebrate and support OCS. 

  If you would like to make a donation or are out and about and would like to collect a donation from one of your favorite places for our silent auction, we would love your help! 

  HERE is the donation letter to present to local businesses. All donations can be turned into Amy at the front desk labeled Lifebuilders.

• Re-enrollment Coming Soon
  

  Re-enrollment for current families will open on January 27 immediately following the State of the School Meeting. Open Enrollment to the public will begin on February 11, so we strongly encourage you to complete re-enrollment by February 10 to guarantee your student a spot for the 2025-26 school year. There will be no re-enrollment fee if you re-enroll by February 10, 2025. A non-refundable $150 re-enrollment fee per student will be assessed after February 10.

  For families who receive tuition assistance, a new Tuition Assistance application is required to be completed for the 2025-26 school year. The amount of OCS tuition assistance funds is limited, therefore families should complete their applications early. The tuition assistance application can be accessed HERE.

  All parents will receive an email with a link and instructions for completing re-enrollment packets at the conclusion of the January 27 Parent Meeting.

• Priority Sibling Enrollment
  

  If you have an additional child that you would like to enroll, now is the time to apply! Current families get priority sibling enrollment through February 11. Please keep in mind that the application needs to be submitted and the testing completed before February 11.
  
  Please note: Re-enrollment for current students will open on January 27, immediately following the State of the School meeting.

  To begin an application for an additional student:
  1. Login in to your FACTS Family Portal account.
  2. Click “Apply/Enroll”
  3. Click “Application”
  4. Click “Click here to open Application”
  5. Click “Create a new student Application”

• Annual State of the School Meeting
  

  Please join us for our Annual State of the School Meeting on MONDAY, JANUARY 27 from 7-8 pm in the Main Gym. Before the meeting, we will also be gathering for a time of community worship from 6:30-6:50 pm. All parents are encouraged to attend!

  This is a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and a time to get a glimpse into the exciting future of OCS. Families who attend may log 2 family service hours!

  This event also kicks off re-enrollment for our current families. All families will receive an email at the conclusion of the parent meeting with a link and instructions to complete re-enrollment. Open enrollment to the general public begins on February 11, so we strongly encourage you to complete re-enrollment by February 10 to guarantee your student a spot for the 2025-26 school year. Also, there will be no re-enrollment fee if you re-enroll by February 10, 2025.

• OCS Family Skate Night
  

  Join us for Skate Night on January 9 or February 20 from 6:30-8:30 PM at the Rolladium for an evening of skating, family-friendly music, games, a snack bar, and an arcade. 

  $7 per skater includes skate rental. Inline skates are an additional $5. You may bring your own skates if you prefer!

• 2025 Summer Camps
  

  Want an unforgettable summer experience for your child? Look no further! OCS Summer Camps cover everything from sports to art, allowing children to explore their interests and try new things. Our camps provide a safe and fun environment for children to learn, grow, and make new friends. Camp times are from 9 AM - 3 PM. Camps are available for all age groups. Childcare is available before and after all camps.

• Kroger Community Rewards
  

  Oakland Christian's PTF has joined with Kroger as a Community Rewards Partner. Each time you use your registered Kroger card, Kroger will donate a portion of your bill to the OCS PTF, with no cost to you! Click HERE to register your card and select Oakland Christian School. This is an easy, no-cost way to help support the PTF. Please contact ptf@oaklandchristian.com with any questions you may have. 

• Family Service Hours
  

  There are so many ways for families to get involved and make a difference at Oakland Christian School. Parental efforts support the energies of the faculty and staff and enable them to keep their focus on the quality of our educational program. Volunteering also gives your family a way to become more fully connected in the school community and helps your child see your commitment to quality education. Oakland Christian requires each family to contribute 20 service hours per year, which are counted from May 1 to April 30 for each school year. This means that on April 30 each year, the total hours served are calculated, and on May 1 hours will begin counting for the next school year. • Peer Tutoring
  

  The OCS Peer Tutoring program is up and running for the 24/25 school year. The program runs Monday - Thursday from 3:20 - 3:50. Tutors are OCS students in good standing who have a desire to help younger students. The cost is $10 per session paid directly to the tutor.

• Middle School Preview Night
  

  We invite our 5th-grade families to join us on Tuesday, February 11 for Middle School Preview Night! Explore athletics, electives, core subjects,  spiritual life, and the 6th-grade transition program. Find out how Oakland Christian prepares students to thrive academically, spiritually, and socially. Stay afterward for the boys' varsity basketball game at 7:00 PM—complimentary admission for attendees!

• Elementary Fun Run Breakdown
  

  We are thankful for our OCS community's participation in the Fun Run! It was a beautiful day full of laughter and fun. Here is the Fun Run financial summary. Fun Run pictures will be available for parent viewing soon. 

• PTF Meeting
  

  PTF Meetings are on the second Thursday of each month, in the Multipurpose Room, from 8:00 - 8:50 AM.

   

• Lunch Supervision Help Needed
  

  We are looking for 1 parent helper every day to assist the staff with lunch supervision from 12:30-1:30pm. Parents are invited to sign up for a few dates they are available to help or sign up as a weekly helper. 

  Grandparents are welcome to help as well. All volunteers must have a valid background check on file.

• Parent Appreciation Chapel
  

  We love our parents! OCS Elementary invites our parents to a Parent Appreciation Chapel on Wednesday, February 5 at 8:15 AM in the Main Gym. Please join us as we celebrate YOU!
