Check out our summer learning resources HERE. In order to maintain the growth our students demonstrate each year, OCS provides summer learning materials to reinforce these skills and prepare students for a great start in August. Please Note: Secondary (entering 6th - 12th grades) Summer Learning assignments are required and will be a part of their 1st quarter grades. Elementary (entering Kindergarten - 5th grade) Summer Learning is recommended only.

Garden Mum orders are due by September 9th! Proceeds from this annual fundraiser benefit student activities and teacher/staff care and support provided by our Parent Teacher Fellowship. Download your order form HERE and return it to the front lobby kiosk. Flowers will be delivered on September 17th.

Prayer Walk
We hope you will join us for a short time of worship followed by a Prayer Walk on August 14 at 11:15 AM in the courtyard by the main lobby during our Teacher Orientation to pray over the school grounds and the upcoming school year.

Important Back to School Dates
Here are some important Back to School Dates to be aware of. Both students and parents are encouraged to attend 6th Grade Orientation and the Meet the Teacher Nights.
- 8/15 6th Grade Orientation @ 5:30 PM
- 8/15 Secondary (6 - 12th) Meet the Teacher Night @ 6:00-7:30 PM
- 8/16 Elementary (JK - 5th) Meet the Teacher Night @ 4:30-6:00 PM
- 8/20 First Day of School!

Mark your calendars to join us Sept. 6th at Upland Hills Farm for fun, fellowship, and community building, hosted by our PTF. Food trucks will be available to purchase food and drinks throughout the event, and there will be many activities the whole family will enjoy! Tickets will be $8.50 per person; children ages 2 and under are free. Plan to come dressed in your western gear for a night to remember as we kick off the start of the school year, hoedown style! Purchase your copy of Historias Desdichas II
Historias Desdichas II was written by Señora Frasa's Spanish IV class in 2023 and contains the powerful, real-life stories of young people in the Dominican Republic who have endured tremendous hardships. However, instead of caving to crisis situations, by the grace of God and through the strength of community, they have overcome the odds and today are flourishing members of society. If you need a reminder that there is hope for today’s younger generation, then this book will inspire you!
The books are $12.99 on Amazon; however, you can also purchase them directly from Señora. When you give her $12 (cash only, please), you will receive Historias desdichas II and a copy of the original Historias desdichas for free. The book was originally written in Spanish but has been translated to English so that everyone who wants to can read it. All proceeds go to the many needs of our Dominican Mission, as well as the needs of our sister school Manantial de Vida in Juan Tomás, República Dominicana.

PTF Sports Court Fundraiser
Our students are so excited for their sport court to be finished. Phase 1 is complete and students are able to play on it currently, but eventually, the court will have tiles with our school colors, our logo, and painted lines for half-court basketball with a 3-point line, pickleball, volleyball, badminton, and 4-square, as well as an updated gaga ball pit.
Thank you to those who have donated to this project. The PTF is still in need of donations to complete the next phase, and your donations of any amount will have an incredible impact. You can also purchase a family sponsorship for $500 that includes a plaque or brick with your name on the court! Thank you, in advance, for your contribution and partnership towards providing our students of all ages opportunities for outdoor fun, entertainment, and exercise!

Oakland Christian's PTF has joined with Kroger as a Community Rewards Partner. Want an unforgettable summer experience for your child? Look no further! OCS Summer Camps cover everything from sports to art, allowing children to explore their interests and try new things. Our camps provide a safe and fun environment for children to learn, grow, and make new friends. Camp times are from 9 AM - 3 PM. Camps are available for all age groups. Childcare is available before and after all camps.

Peer Tutoring is now available for all students from 3:20-3:50 PM, Monday-Friday, for $10 per half hour session. Our peer tutors are secondary students who have completed the peer tutoring orientation. The peer tutoring program includes adult supervision during the tutoring sessions.
Use the following LINK to sign up for up to 4 tutoring sessions a week. Once you register, you will receive a personalized email with the tutor's name, start date, day(s) of the week your student will be in tutoring, and protocol for any necessary cancellations. There are so many ways for families to get involved and make a difference at Oakland Christian School. Parental efforts support the energies of the faculty and staff and enable them to keep their focus on the quality of our educational program. Volunteering also gives your family a way to become more fully connected in the school community and helps your child see your commitment to quality education. Oakland Christian requires that each family contribute 20 service hours per year, and the hours you earn as of May 1 now count toward the 24/25 school year.
