Tuition & Affordability

Are you interested in a quality Christian education but concerned that cost may be a barrier?

At Oakland Christian School, our mission is to make this quality Christian education available to as many families as possible.

Variable tuition is a need-based tuition assistance program similar to those used by many private schools, colleges, and universities. The goal of the variable tuition program is to make Oakland Christian School affordable to as many qualified students as possible.

Variable tuition grants are awarded to families who apply for and qualify for need- based tuition assistance and are funded by Oakland Christian School. Tuition grants will be awarded according to a family's qualifying need and are limited to funds available in Oakland Christian’s tuition assistance program. The maximum discount available is 35% and most families who qualify for a grant award will receive between 5% and 20%.

Families interested in a variable tuition rate may apply by submitting an online application through FACTS Grant & Aid. There is a $35 fee to apply. To qualify for a variable tuition rate, a FACTS Grant & Aid application must be submitted each year.

Variable Tuition FAQs

Variable Tuition is a need-based tuition assistance program similar to those used by many private schools, colleges, and universities. This program allows families to apply for reduced tuition according to their family's financial situation. Thus, this makes an Oakland Christian education affordable to more qualified students who could not otherwise join our school community.

Any family of a Jr Kindergarten - 12th-grade student may apply for Variable Tuition if they are concerned about affording the full tuition rate at Oakland Christian. Applications are submitted to our 3rd party service, FACTS, who makes a recommendation based on the criteria set by the school. OCS's Tuition Office will notify families of the Variable Tuition level for which they qualify.

Our variable tuition program is fully funded by Oakland Christian School. Our assistance dollars come from our general budget as well as from generous donations to our tuition assistance fund.

A wide range of families with a variety of circumstances can qualify for the program. Many factors are evaluated, including income, assets, unusual expenses, and the size of the family.
