  • National Day of Prayer - May 1

We are excited to invite you to our first annual National Day of Prayer event on Thursday, May 1st, in the main lobby from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This year’s theme is “Pour Out to the God of Hope and Be Filled”, inspired by Romans 15:13:

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

Throughout the day, a podium and Bibles will be set up for individuals or groups to pause, pray, and seek God together. We encourage teachers to bring their classes, students to join during free time, and staff, parents, and board members to participate as they are able. We also want to get the word out to local churches, Christian leaders, business owners, and others in our community.

Sign up for a 15-minute prayer slot HERE! Participation is completely optional, but our hope is that this time of prayer will remind us all to rely on God as a united community.  Please help me by sharing this link and the document so we can get as many as possible to pray!

Read more about the National Day of Prayer at their official website at NationalDayofPrayer.org.

We look forward to seeking the Lord together on this special day!

  • Apologetics Nights

We are excited to announce that Oakland Christian School is offering a series of evening classes on the fascinating and essential topic of apologetics! Apologetics is the discipline of defending the Christian faith through reasoned arguments and evidence, empowering believers to confidently explain and uphold their beliefs. These classes will not only count as service hours for those who attend but will also provide a unique opportunity to dive deep into relevant and pressing issues facing Christians today. Whether you’re a parent or a student, these sessions will equip you with the tools needed to live out your faith with confidence and discernment, sparking great conversations and pointing you to valuable resources. In a world that often challenges our beliefs, these classes aim to make everyone in our school community more effective and comfortable in defending the truth of the gospel. We strongly encourage you to join us if you can fit it into your schedule—these evenings will be both relaxed in feel and empowering for the mind!

  • Purchase your copy of Historias desdichas III

Historias desdichas III was written by Señora Frasa’s Spanish IV class in 2024 and continues the narration of compelling, real-life stories that have become the hallmark of the series. With this edition, the authors take their readers all over the world, a round-trip expedition that would span well over 18,000 miles. And yet through the impact of storytelling, year after year these students and their teacher have seen the world get a little smaller -- one bridge at a time. Come join them as they take you on a journey where tragedies are turned into triumphs, as fractured lives are made whole by the power of redemption.

The books are $12.99 on Amazon and can be purchased HERE; however, you can also purchase them directly from Señora. When you give her $12 (cash only, please), you will receive Historias desdichas III and a copy of the original Historias desdichas for free (while supplies last). We also have a few copies of Historias desdichas II left, and so for $20, you can get a copy of all three books. These books were originally written in Spanish but have been translated to English so that everyone who wants to can read it. All proceeds go to the many needs of our Dominican Mission, as well as the needs of our sister school Manantial de Vida in Juan Tomás, República Dominicana.

  • There are so many ways for families to get involved and make a difference at Oakland Christian School. Parental efforts support the energies of the faculty and staff and enable them to keep their focus on the quality of our educational program. Volunteering also gives your family a way to become more fully connected in the school community and helps your child see your commitment to quality education. Oakland Christian requires each family to contribute 20 service hours per year, which are counted from May 1 to April 30 for each school year. This means that on April 30 each year, the total hours served are calculated, and on May 1 hours will begin counting for the next school year. For more information on opportunities for service and on recording your hours, click HERE.
